How We Grow Asbestos Businesses Across the UK
Kasra Dash:
If you run an asbestos company in the UK and you want a consistent flow of inquiries generated solely for your business, this video is for you. Myself and James work with many asbestos companies across the UK. When it comes to lead generation and getting consistent day-to-day inquiries, we know exactly what works and what should be avoided in your marketing strategy. So, James, take it away.
James Dooley:
Step number one for growth is a strong Google Business Profile. If you already have one, reach out to existing clients and collect as many five-star reviews as possible. It’s one of the best ways for Google Business Profile to generate more leads. You should also work on citations, GBP posts, and uploading photos. That’s definitely step one for generating more local leads.
Kasra Dash:
Step number two, building on the Google Business Profile, is creating dedicated service pages for each of your individual services as SEO-optimised pages on your website. This not only helps rank the page but also increases the chances of your Google Business Profile appearing for those keywords. You’ll indirectly receive more phone calls too.
James Dooley:
If you want more local leads, PPC lead generation is another option. That’s pay-per-click on Google or Bing where you target bottom-of-funnel keywords to generate inquiries. The issue is you need a good PPC agency because of click fraud and the importance of building a negative keyword list so you’re not paying for irrelevant job-seekers. PPC works, but in the wrong hands it wastes money. Still, it’s another way to generate local leads.
Kasra Dash:
You’ve also got Meta Ads—Facebook and Instagram. When someone goes onto Facebook, they might see your ad. You can run lead forms where users don’t leave Facebook, though the quality might be lower unless you add more questions. Or you can run conversion ads that send people to your website to complete your contact form. You’ve got a few options.
James Dooley:
Another way to grow local leads is organic social media: posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit, Quora—anywhere people ask questions. Organic social media can generate more local leads for your business.
Kasra Dash:
Organic social media is a volume game. You want to consistently upload—daily or weekly. You might say you want to upload five videos a week. Stick to it, especially for algorithms like YouTube or Twitter.
James Dooley:
What are your thoughts on using AI agents with tools like n8n to automate and schedule social posts? AI is everywhere now for lead generation. Would you team up with an AI consultant to set that up?
Kasra Dash:
You can certainly set up AI agents to crop videos and auto-publish to YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. But I’d also focus on AI search. Many users now search through platforms like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok. If your brand isn’t showing up in those engines, you’ll struggle to generate leads there. That’s another area companies should focus on.
James Dooley:
If you're looking for more business leads locally, you can also team up with tradespeople websites like Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader, and Rated People. These platforms can generate leads, but you must track KPIs—cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and ROI. Check the links in the description because we compare sites like Checkatrade vs FatRank, Bark vs FatRank, Rated People vs FatRank, and more. Casra, what are your thoughts on lead generation companies compared to tradespeople platforms?
Kasra Dash:
With lead generation companies, do your due diligence. If you're in a specific niche, make sure that company has generated leads in that industry before. Have a strategy call: your budget, how many leads you want, and your KPIs. Ask what type of leads they offer—exclusive or shared. Shared leads, like with Bark and Checkatrade, lead to a race to the bottom on price. That’s important to clarify before partnering with any lead generation company.
James Dooley:
If you’re interested in generating more local leads, head to fatrank.com where we offer a commission-based lead generation service. You only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs—nothing upfront and nothing per lead. You only pay after the job is completed and you’ve been paid. Visit fatrank.com to see if you qualify. But let’s expand further: what’s your take on inbound vs outbound lead generation?
Kasra Dash:
I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate from lead to paying customer is much higher. The last statistic I saw was around 16.1% converting from inbound versus 1.4% from outbound.
James Dooley:
That’s huge—about 10–12 times higher conversion from inbound. Outbound requires a lot of volume, whether it’s cold calling, cold email, or LinkedIn outreach. Plus, you need more staff, and people forget outbound isn’t free—you still pay for emails, staff, and time. So inbound leads are far better. What about real-time leads—do they matter?
Kasra Dash:
Real-time leads are very important. The last internal stat we saw was that responding to a real-time lead converts around 63% higher. We found responding within under a minute dramatically increased conversion. We once thought five minutes was good, but under a minute is better. Not every company needs to respond that fast, but at FatRank we look at these factors when partnering with businesses. Some businesses go away for five days and miss leads entirely. There are many nuances we consider. My main recommendation for anyone wanting consistent high-quality leads is: fill out the form at FatRank. The team will tell you if you're the right fit.
