Locksmith Lead Generation Strategies That Actually Work

Kasra Dash:
If you’re a locksmith looking to generate high-quality, consistent leads every day, this video is for you. James and I have worked with many locksmiths, so today we’re breaking down the strategies that successful locksmith companies across the UK are using right now. James, take it away.

James Dooley:
Step number one: Google Business Profile. If you already have one, start by reaching out to all your existing clients and ask for as many five-star reviews as possible. Google Business Profile is still one of the best ways to generate local leads. Make sure you’re also adding citations, posting regularly, and uploading photos.

Kasra Dash:
Step number two is to support your Google Business Profile with dedicated service pages. Create an SEO-optimized page for each individual service. This helps the page itself rank, but it also increases the likelihood of your Google Business Profile showing up for those same keywords, which means more phone calls.

James Dooley:
Another option for local leads is PPC—Google Ads or Bing Ads—targeting bottom-of-funnel keywords. The challenge is that you need the right agency. There’s click fraud, and you need a strong negative keyword list to avoid job-seekers or irrelevant searches. PPC works, but in the wrong hands, it can waste a lot of money.

Kasra Dash:
Then you’ve got Meta ads—Facebook and Instagram. People scrolling on Facebook might see your ad. You can run lead forms, which keep users on Facebook, but the quality can be lower unless you add more qualifying questions. Or, you can run conversion ads that drive users to your website to fill out your contact form.

James Dooley:
Another route is organic social media—posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit, and Quora. If people are asking questions, answer them. Organic social works well for generating local leads.

Kasra Dash:
Organic is a volume game. You need consistency—whether that’s daily or weekly. For example, uploading five videos per week can help with platforms like YouTube and Twitter.

James Dooley:
What’s your view on using AI agents to automate content—like N8N for scheduling and automation? A lot of people use AI for lead generation. Should locksmiths team up with an AI consultant?

Kasra Dash:
You can definitely set up AI agents to crop videos and auto-publish to YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. But you should also focus on AI search. People aren’t fully moving away from Google, but more are using ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and Grok as search engines. If your brand isn’t appearing on these platforms, you miss leads. Locksmiths need to optimize for these AI-based discovery engines too.

James Dooley:
Another way to get local business leads is using tradespeople platforms—Checkatrade, Bark, BuilderBuilder, TrustATrader, Rated People. Track your KPIs: cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and return on investment.

Check the links in the description—we compare Checkatrade with FatRank, Bark with FatRank, Rated People with FatRank, and more. Since FatRank keeps popping up, Kasra, what’s your view on lead generation companies versus tradespeople websites?

Kasra Dash:
With lead generation companies, you need to do your due diligence. Make sure they’ve generated leads in your niche before. Have a strategy call with them to discuss budget and expected leads. Confirm if leads are exclusive or shared—shared leads are what many tradespeople websites use, which creates a race to the bottom on pricing.

James Dooley:
If you want more local leads, head over to FatRank.com. Our service is commission-based—you only pay a finder’s fee on converted jobs. No pay-per-lead costs. You only pay after you’ve completed and been paid for the job.

What are your thoughts on inbound vs outbound lead generation?

Kasra Dash:
I always prefer inbound. The conversion rate is much higher. One stat showed inbound converts at around 16.1%, compared to 1.4% for outbound. That’s massive. Outbound requires way more volume and usually more staff—cold calling, cold email, LinkedIn outreach, etc. Many businesses think outbound leads are “free,” but there’s still cost: email tools, staff, and time.

James Dooley:
People also ask about real-time leads—how important is it to receive the lead instantly?

Kasra Dash:
Very important. Our internal data showed real-time leads convert about 63% higher. When we measured KPIs, responding in under a minute boosted conversions dramatically. Five minutes used to seem fast, but under one minute performs far better.

James Dooley:
Not every company can respond in under a minute, but when partnering with businesses we check responsiveness. Some businesses go away for five days and have no one answering leads, which is a problem. These details matter.

Kasra Dash:
If you want consistent, high-quality leads, just fill out the form on FatRank. The team will tell you if you’re a good fit, and why. They’ll also guide you on next steps if you’re not.

James Dooley:
Hope you found these strategies helpful for generating more locksmith leads. Head to FatRank.com—we work with many locksmiths across the UK. You could be the next one we help scale.
