Grow Your Cleaning Company with These Proven Lead Tactics
Kasra Dash:
Today we're talking about how to generate more cleaning leads for your cleaning business. We've done this for commercial cleaning, office cleaning, and home/domestic cleaning. We’ll break down the strategies you can use to grow your business in 2025. I'm joined by James. Take it away.
James Dooley:
Step one for growth is optimizing your Google Business Profile. If you already have one, reach out to existing clients to get as many five-star reviews as possible. GBP is a great way to generate more local leads. Make sure you're getting citations, posting regularly, and uploading photos. That’s step one for generating local leads.
Kasra Dash:
Step number two, which builds on your GBP, is creating dedicated service pages on your website. These should be SEO-optimized pages for each individual service. Doing this helps those pages rank and also increases the chances that your Google Business Profile will rank for those same keywords. That means more phone calls and inquiries.
James Dooley:
Another option for local leads is PPC lead generation—Google Ads or Bing Ads. Target bottom-of-funnel keywords to generate more inquiries. The important thing is having a good PPC agency because of click fraud and the need for strong negative keyword lists, especially to filter out jobseekers. PPC can work well, but in the wrong hands, you can waste a lot of money.
Kasra Dash:
Then you’ve got Meta ads—Facebook and Instagram. When someone scrolls Facebook, they might see your ad. There are two main setups:
A) Lead forms—easy, users never leave Facebook, but quality is usually lower unless you add more qualifying questions.
B) Conversion ads—these send traffic to your website, and users complete your contact form. So, two good options depending on your goals.
James Dooley:
Another way to generate leads is through organic social media—posting regularly on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, Instagram, Reddit, and Quora. Answering questions on those platforms can generate local inquiries.
Kasra Dash:
Organic social media is a volume game. You want a consistent schedule—daily or weekly. For example, upload five videos per week and stick to it. Platforms like YouTube and Twitter rely heavily on consistency.
James Dooley:
What do you think about using AI agents for content? Could someone use tools like Nant to automate cropping videos and scheduling posts? Should people team up with an AI consultant?
Kasra Dash:
Yes, you can use AI agents to crop videos and autopublish across platforms. But I’d also focus on AI search. People are slowly moving from Google to AI search engines like ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Grok. If your brand isn’t showing up on those models, you’ll miss out on leads. So AI search visibility should also be a priority.
James Dooley:
If you want more local leads, you can also team up with trades-people websites like Checkatrade, Bark, Builder Builder, TrustATrader, or Rated People. These platforms can generate local leads, but you need to track KPIs—cost per lead, cost per acquisition, and ROI. Check the links in the description because we compare a lot of these platforms on the channel.
James Dooley:
Now that I’ve mentioned Fat Rank a few times, Kas, what’s your take on lead generation companies versus trades-people companies?
Kasra Dash:
With any lead generation company, do your due diligence. Make sure they’ve generated leads in your niche before. Have a strategy call with them to align on budget and lead volume. Ask what type of leads they deliver—exclusive or shared. Shared leads are the biggest complaint with platforms like Bark or Checkatrade. It becomes a race to the bottom on price. So ask the right questions before partnering.
James Dooley:
If you’re interested in local leads, go to FatRank.com. We have a commission-based lead generation service where you only pay a finder’s fee when the job converts. You don’t pay per lead—you pay after you close the job. Visit FatRank.com to see if you qualify.
James Dooley:
Kas, what’s your opinion on inbound vs outbound lead generation?
Kasra Dash:
Inbound is always better. Conversion rates are much higher—around 16.1% conversion into paying customers, versus 1.4% for outbound. That’s 10–12x higher. Outbound methods like cold email or cold calling require a lot of volume and often a larger sales team. People think outbound is “free,” but email tools and sales labor still cost money. Inbound is simply more efficient.
James Dooley:
Some people ask whether real-time leads matter. Should leads be delivered instantly the moment a customer inquires?
Kasra Dash:
Yes, it’s important. Internally, we saw that real-time leads convert 63% higher. Responding within under a minute significantly increases conversions. We used to think five minutes was fast, but under a minute makes a huge difference. Not every company can reply that fast, but delays often cost businesses a lot of opportunities.
Kasra Dash:
Some businesses go on holiday, and no one picks up the leads for days. So we look at things like this when partnering with companies. The best thing you can do if you want to scale and get consistent high-quality leads is fill out the form at FatRank. The team will check if you’re the right fit and tell you what to fix if you're not.
James Dooley:
If you're looking for more cleaning leads—biohazard cleaning, roof cleaning, carpet cleaning, or anything else—head to FatRank.com. We work with many cleaning companies and generate consistent day-to-day leads. We hope you become the next cleaning company we help scale.
